INTRODUCTION


The following projects originate from an artist residency at BankART NYK in Yokohama, Japan in the summer of 2010. The time was collaborative with Christa Donner. Research funds from SAIC supported my travel.

Without expectation, I responded to what came to my attention once in Yokohama. Three themes began to develop from my everyday experiences being in the city everyday, all representing different perspectives on intersections across cultures, languages, objects, notions, and places -
